Top 5 Wednesday 10/15
Hello people of
the interwebs and today I’m here to do Top 5 Wednesday! Now if you don’t know,
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme started by gingerreadslainey, you can find all
the info here. This week’s topic is Top 5 books that you didn’t think you’d
like, but you did… so let’s get started!
The Fault in our Stars by John Green
Now I know a lot
of you are probably wondering why this book is on my list, and no, it’s not
because I have anything against John Green. It’s because at the time of me reading The Fault in our Stars, I hadn’t read
much contemporary. And I didn’t think that contemporary would really be my
thing, but boy was I wrong! I loved The Fault in our Stars and while I still
don’t consider contemporary to be my favorite genre, I do read in the genre a
lot more!
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
It’s not that I
didn’t think I would like this book, as much as I just wasn’t sure if it would
be my cup of tea. The synopsis didn’t tell too much about the book so I was
nervous when I started it to whether I’d like it or not. But I’m glad I read it
because it’s now one of my favorite books!
The Archived by Victoria Schwab
This is another
book that I just wasn’t sure if it would be my cup of tea; the synopsis didn’t really
catch my attention too much. It was really Jesse The Reader on YouTube and his
raving about the book that convinced me to read it. And, like Mara Dyer, I’m
glad I did because it’s now one of my favorite books!
Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
This is just
such a different book that I didn’t think I would like it; I thought it would
be too weird. But, like pretty much every other book on this list, I was wrong,
I LOVED Miss Peregrine’s Home for
Peculiar Children! It’s an amazing book and one of my favorites!
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
I didn’t think I’d
like this book because it’s high fantasy and that’s generally not my favorite
genre. But when I saw that my school library had the book I decided to give it
a chance, and I’m glad I did, because I actually really like this series!
Have you read any of these
books? What did you think? Comment below and let me know! Also, if you do top 5
Wednesday, link your post down below and I’ll check it out!
