Vicious Review

Hello guys its Meagan and today I’m here to review Vicious by V. E. Schwab (AKA Victoria Schwab) an AMZANG book about AMAZING AWESOMENESS! Did I mention that it’s amazing? ;)

A masterful, twisted tale of ambition, jealousy, betrayal, and superpowers, set in a near-future world.
Victor and Eli started out as college roommates—brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong. Ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison, determined to catch up to his old friend (now foe), aided by a young girl whose reserved nature obscures a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eradicate every other super-powered person that he can find—aside from his sidekick, an enigmatic woman with an unbreakable will. Armed with terrible power on both sides, driven by the memory of betrayal and loss, the archnemeses have set a course for revenge—but who will be left alive at the end?
In Vicious, V. E. Schwab brings to life a gritty comic-book-style world in vivid prose: a world where gaining superpowers doesn’t automatically lead to heroism, and a time when allegiances are called into question. –goodreads.com summery

Rating
Now I think you can tell by the first lines of this review that I absolutely LOVE this book and I recommend it to EVERYONE! For any of you who don’t know, Victoria Schwab is one of my favorite authors so I had high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint! Vicious is full of great, developed characters and amazing, intense action! You never want to put the book down!

Things I Liked!
EVERYTHING! Ummm I mean… the characters, yeah I’ll start with the characters! All the characters are so well developed! Victoria has a way of making you fall in love with characters so quickly. I specifically fell in love with Sydney from when you first saw her. She’s just such an innocent character stuck in the middle of a bunch of crap, you can’t help but love her! Victoria also has a way of making you care about characters that you’d never thought you’d like or care about, specifically, Serena. I never thought I’d like Serena when I first heard about her character but as I learned more and more about her, I became really intrigued with her character. She is a very different and interesting character and I feel like I could spend hours just analyzing her character.

Next great thing is the plot. Victoria uses these amazingly complex characters that she’s created to make an even more amazing and complex plot! The plot switches point of view from lots of different characters and that gives Victoria ample opportunities to leave off chapters with cliff-hangers and leave you at the edge of your seat wondering what is gonna happen to your favorite characters.

Things I didn’t like
Um… nothing! Seriously, I trying real hard here! I just love everything!

Overall
As you can tell from the constant raving above, I absolutely LOVED this book! It was everything I expected and more from my favorite author and I can’t wait to read even more of Victoria Schwab’s books! I recommend this for EVERYONE!
