The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater Review

Image
One book down, twenty-four to go! WOOP! Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Gansey is different. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little. For as long as she can remember, Blue has been told by her psychic family that she will kill her true love. She never thought this wo...

Unfinished Series Part 2

Image
Hello! A while ago I did a post about some of my unfinished series. Since I am a terrible reader and the list of unfinished series has only grown, I’ve decided to give you an update on that list! I read Rebel Belle back when it first came out and LOVED it! It really is a quick and fun read that still has some amazing characters. Sadly I haven’t had the chance to read any of the other books in the series yet, but I really want to continue the series in April when book three comes out! When B lue Lily Lily Blue came out and I decided to wait to pick it up. When I finally picked it up in May of last year I was already getting into a reading slump that I just recently got out of. I might wait until The Raven King comes out then binge the whole series over again in order to catch up. I was late to the party with this series considering I didn’t start reading Cinder until last May, but I really enjoyed it! Then I moved onto Scarlet in the fall, but of course the d...

Favorite Series Covers

Image
Hello fellow readers! We’ve all know the saying, don’t judge a book by its cover, and we all know that we break this rule. These are some of favorite series covers (the quality of the book has nothing to do with this list). These covers go brilliantly on your shelf and the covers look beautiful together! While I am not a fan of The Mortal Instruments covers, these are much better capturing the beauty and elegance of the era while keeping the main trio the center of the covers. I am specifically talking about the original covers but I love the new ones too. I was actually not a fan of these covers to begin with but wow they have grown on me! All three of these covers are simple, beautiful, and elegant. These are how you do people covers well! Each cover is a different striking color making them look great together on the shelf. I am talking about the US covers since I much prefer those to the UK covers. All three of these covers are extremely me...

Top 5 Wednesday... 7/1

Image
Hey guys, welcome to Top 5 Wednesday! If you don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is then click HERE , if not stay! This week’s topic is Top 5 chapter headers! In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken I couldn't not include a book from this series because these chapter headers are really memorable. I can recognize each book in the series just by their chapter headers! Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins  This is a really simple and beautiful header from the cursive font to the pretty bow in the corner!  Champion by Marie Lu Another memorable cover with the name of whoever's POV the chapter is from and the text color depending on which POV it's from. A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab This is actually a picture of the 'part one' page, if you know what I mean but I just really like it so I had to include it. I love the different pictures of London over the title symbolizing the Londons in the book! The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvator This...

Top 5 Wednesday... 6/10

Hey guys, welcome to Top 5 Wednesday! If you don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is then click HERE , if not stay! This week’s topic is Top 5 books with multiple POVs, and I went with books with more than two POVs. I chose all the books for the same reason— they all used the switching POVs to develop characters and plot. All of the books above have strong characters and POVs and I recommend them!
