MTV Scream Season 2 Discussion (Minor Spoilers)

Image
Season two of MTV Scream has come to a close, the Summer is ending and fall premieres will begin soon… :) After I really enjoyed season one of MTV Scream , I went into season two expecting at least an enjoyable story. The season started strong with a focus on Audrey, which immediately made me excited because I really like her character. I love the story of exploring Audrey’s past actions and feelings surrounding season one, and using that to lead into this season. This story was a clever way to connect the two seasons without completely rehashing the plot of season one. Season two of Scream both introduces new characters and builds on old ones. I was very excited when Sean Grandillo (Eli) was introduces since he was one of the main reasons I checked out MTV Scream . Sean’s performance as Eli did not disappoint, I really liked his character and was very excited to see where things went by the end of the season. The character of Gustavo Acosta was very interesting. In the...

My Netflix Adventure: Once Upon A Time Season Four

Image
GUESS WHAT I FINALLY  FINISHED  WATCHING! This is going to be a little different of a Netflix Adventure, and let me tell you why! I started Season four of Once Upon a Time back when it was airing live and I kept up with it weekly. I thought it was okay but confusing. Then, for some unknown reason, I stopped halfway through. When it finally came on Netflix I never caught up on Season four, but had the bright idea to move onto Season five. This also ended with me stopping hallway through. Now I have FINALLY gone back and finished watching Season four, and I mostly enjoyed it. My issue with Once Upon a Time (and this is more of a personal issue) is that you can’t multitask while watching it. I have to pay full attention to the show or else I get lost, and this is unfortunate because I usually do homework while watching TV. This is why I tend to not keep up with the show on a weekly basis— it becomes a chore. Once Upon A Time is more of a Netflix show for me, when I ...

The Flash Season Two Discussion (Spoilers!)

Image
Of the eight shows I intended to watch this year, I kept up with three of them… And one of those shows was Dance Moms . I apologize, I have failed you. I APOLOGIZE BUT SPOILERS ARE AHEAD! PLEASE SKIP TO THE OVERALL SECTION OF THE REVIEW IF YOU WISH TO KNOW MY SPOILER FREE THOUGHT OF THIS SEASON! I originally started watching The Flash because I was a fan of Arrow , and I wanted to understand what was happening during crossover episodes, but I quickly became a fan. Season one started as a more lighthearted show that really found its stride over the course of the episodes. Season two introduced many characters that fans of the comics will recognize and fans of the show will grow to love, and new conflicts that will keep views watching. Season two got more intense than season one, with the villain of Zoom being very intimidating but still a great character. At the beginning of the season, Zoom seemed like just another big bad. But as the season progressed, the viewer learned...

Shadowhunters Season 1

Image
Well, a season of Shadowhunters has come and gone! And how was it…? It was, umm, serviceable… It’s crazy to think, just a year ago the fandom was going crazy about the fact that Jace got cast and the show was officially going to air on ABC Family (*cough* Freeform), and now here we are, at the end of season one, and renewed for season two! Fan reaction for Shadowhunters has been extremely mixed since it premiered and I have been pretty open about the fact that I believe the show is not a quality show, but I enjoy it as a guilty pleasure. From the first episode of Shadowhunters , I knew the show was not going to be of the best quality, but I knew it was going to be a great guilty pleasure watch! I LOVE watching Shadowhunters after I’m already in a good mood from The Flash the hour before, and laughing at the mistakes but still being interested in the differences from the books. But that’s my issue with Shadowhunters , you have all of these amateur mistakes where they cl...

My Netflix Adventure: Daredevil Season 2

Image
The next stop on my netflix adventure brings us to the wonderful world of Hell’s Kitchen to visit characters such as Matt Murdock, Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson. That’s right, it’s time to discuss season two of Daredevil ! I went into season two with pretty high expectations after I enjoyed both season one and Jessica Jones — I even rewatched season one a few weeks before season two came out, so it’s safe to say that I was excited and ready for season two, and it mostly lived up to expectation and I can definitely see myself rewatching it before next season comes out. Season two was full of all of the great characters that you loved from last season plus great new ones. I loved the chemistry between Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) back in season one and while the relationship between these characters this season is much darker and gloomier, they still work extremely well as a team. Other character such as The Punisher...

Parks and Recreation Review

Image
Imagine me just scrolling then Netflix, when all of the sudden I see Parks and Recreation Season Seven... WHAAATTTT! This season came out of nowhere for me; I had no idea that they were coming out with a new season! I had actually finished season six last May and really enjoyed it. The short thirty second nature of the episodes made them quick and easy to watch, allowing me to finish all six seasons in about a two weeks. Then, during this past week, I was able to get through season seven quickly by just watching two episodes a night before I go to bed. Parks and Recreation is a great show to pick up and put back down at random times and still be able to understand what is going on— check it out if you haven’t already! Going into season seven my greatest worry was wondering if it was going to stand up to the quality of the other seasons— mostly it does. Season seven brings in the interesting idea of having a time jump between the last episode of season six and episode one of ...

Winter TV Premieres!

Image
It’s January so you know what that means… TV SHOW PREMIERES! Just to get it out of the way, This post will only be about shows that had a new season premiere in January— yes Flash and Arrow came back on but middle of the season episodes are going to be structured differently than a season premiere. SHADOWHUNTERS Let’s get this one out of the way first! I had EXTREMELY low hopes for Shadowhunters mostly because it is on ABC Family (*clears throat* Oh sorry Freeform…) and that station isn’t really known for Fantasy. I was worried about the CGI and the fact that most TV studios don’t have the budget to pull something based in fantasy like The Mortal Instruments off and not make it look cheesy. The Flash looks insanely cheesy at times but it WORKS because the show KNOWS it’s cheesy and jokes about it. The show doesn’t go for a serious tone but sadly Shadowhunters does. Even then, the CGI is not my biggest problem with Shadowhunters (I can actually look past it pretty easi...

Orphan Black Seasons One and Two

Image
My Netflix saga continues with a show that took me a while to find! I actually had to watch it on Amazon because Amazon Prime exclusives (blabla legal stuffs) and of course it took me forever to realize that it was an Amazon Prime exclusive, but I’ve seen it know and I’m here to discuss seasons one and two of Orphan Black ! I had heard a few things about Orphan Black before I decided to check it out but I mostly went in blind and without many expectations. I was hooked from the first episode, and could not stop watching. Orphan Black does not waste time with pointless scenes of exposition about character backgrounds but instead throws the audience into the story and lets them figure things out as the story progresses. Viewers are introduced to Sarah’s character and history through dialogue between characters in early episodes. Through these early interactions in early episodes viewers can also pick up a things about Beth’s character and the people in her life. Both of these ...

Fall TV Premieres

The fall is finally here and you know what that means… TV SHOW PREMIERES! I have a few shows that I’m looking forward to coming back for new seasons and I thought I’d talk about it with you! Agents of Shield By the time that this post goes up I’ll have already seen the season 3 premiere but as I’m writing this I’m still waiting for the episode. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the show but I do get enough enjoyment out of watching it to keep up with the show. Once Upon a Time I have not actually seen the finale of season 4 from the spring but I have heard enough of what happened to jump in with season 5. I watched the premiere on Sunday and really enjoyed it! I’m interested to see how Jennifer Morrison plays Emma as a darker, more villainous character— it’s different, refreshing, and I can’t wait to see more! Arrow and the Flash I’m just going to talk about these two in one section. I’m excited for both of these but it’s a different type of excitement for each— fo...

CW Shows at SDCC

Image
Hello!!! San Diego Comic Con has now happened full of amazing reveals and fun Q&As! I, sadly, was not there but that’s what YouTube is for, so I can watch all the panels, and that’s what I’ve been doing the past few days! Now that I’ve seen all of the panels I’m here to talk about everything that was revealed and my thoughts on them. This post will be divided by TV Show so if you only care about a specific show just scroll down to that section of this post. If not, then get ready because this is going to be a long one! Arrow This is the panel that I was the most excited to watch (closely matched by The Flash ) and it didn’t disappoint (beyond it being a little short, but there is nothing we can do about that). There were a lot of reveals and new things mentioned and I’m excited to share them with you! This first one I don’t have too much to say about it— Anarky and Mister Terrific will join the cast for season four as will Damien Darhk. This makes comic book fans excited, ...

TV Update! Doctor Who

Image
Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a Doctor Who fan, but until recently I hadn’t seen most of the episodes. That’s right, when I was originally going through and watching the show on Netflix I watched all of Christopher Eccleston, but I skipped through some of the David Tennant and Matt Smith episodes. So I've been spending the past few weeks catching up on all of the past episodes that I had originally skipped, and I've been really enjoying them! At the moment I'm at the end of David Tennant's last season and I'm sad to see him go. Tennant was such a great doctor with an amazingly complex personality. His episodes were mostly great and he's going to always be my doctor! Keep Watching... Meagan!

Agents of Shield Discussion

Image
If you can’t tell I’ve been watching a lot of shows lately… But on the bright side, I recently finished seasons one and two of Agents of Shield ! So you know what that means! I went into Agents of Shield with low expectations. I had heard that the beginning of season one was very eh but then it starts to pick up. This lead me to be very reluctant to start this series but exams came around and I needed a reason to avoid work and… here we are! I do definitely think that Agents of Shield has a few low points in its two seasons, specifically towards the beginning of season one and towards the end of season two. I’m not sure about the fans’ thoughts on season two, but I feel that season two started strong but ended kind of weak. I was extremely interested to learn more about Skye’s father but when you learned about his character… eh. Some things about him and his motivations were confusing. Then when Skye’s mom was introduced things just got a little to insane for me to suspend...

The Flash Season One Discussion

Image
This past Tuesday The Flash season one finale aired on The CW and OH MY GOSH I think this was my favorite episode of the season, I could go on just about that episode but that’s not why I’m here! I’m here to review all of season one! So when I first heard about The Flash TV show I was thinking eh— I just didn’t think anything of it, but when I started watching Arrow and Barry showed up I figured it would be a good idea to watch The Flash . I went into The Flash thinking that it would be kind of fun but nothing too serious… boy was I wrong! This show sucked me into this amazing would of meta-humans and speedsters and I don’t wanna go back! The best thing about The Flash was that it knew that it was a weird random show and it played with that turning it into this weird little fun show that I always looked forward to watching every Tuesday! I got so invested in these characters that after every episode when a new character was introduced I would immediately go look them up onlin...

Arrow Season 3 Discussion

Image
So the season finale of Arrow aired last week (yeah sorry I’m late) but now it’s time for a Season Three review of Batman *cough cough* I’m sorry I mean Arrow ! This is was the first season that I watched as it aired and man it was an interesting s eason to watch as it aired because this season really split fans. It took a much different path than season two, so different that some might not even call it Arrow anymore (hence the previous joke). Now I completely understand how this can get longtime fans up in arms but, you see, I’m new to this show and this character so this season “not being Arrow” didn’t bother me too much. One common complaint among fans was that Olicity was taking over too much of the show. I honestly didn’t mind the Olicity moments. People often say that Felicity is weak but I feel that it’s the opposite, she holds her own in the season, especially in times when Oliver is away.  Another character that I absolutely LOVED is Roy! This puppy dog eyed vigila...

Day 21 Review

Hey guys! Today I’m here to talk about the second book in the 100 series by Kass Morgan, Day 21 . And, unlike most of my reviews I’ll also spend a little time talking about the 100 show versus the book… What the book does better and why you should read the book even if you watch the show!   No one has set foot on Earth in centuries -- until now. It's been 21 days since the hundred landed on Earth. They're the only humans to set foot on the planet in centuries...or so they thought. Facing an unknown enemy, Wells attempts to keep the group together. Clarke strikes out for Mount Weather, in search of other Colonists, while Bellamy is determined to rescue his sister, no matter the cost. And back on the ship, Glass faces an unthinkable choice between the love of her life and life itself. In this pulse-pounding sequel to Kass Morgan's  The 100 , secrets are revealed, beliefs are challenged, and relationships are tested. And the hundred will struggle to survive the only w...

We Got Our Jace!

Image
Hey guys and OH MY GOSH TODAY WE GOT OUR JACE! Yes! Today Cassie tweeted on Twitter revealing that Dominic Sherwood will be playing Jace in the upcoming City of Bones TV show! Now if you’re anything like me, this is when you scream, “THAT’S CHRISTAIN FROM VAMPIRE ACADEMY !” (Yep, remember that!) But yes! Dom played Christian in the Vampire Academy adaptation and now he’s going to be our Jace! How exciting is that! I’m personally happy with this casting. It doesn’t make me any more or less excited for the show but at least someone I am familiar with will be playing one of the main characters! What are your thoughts on this casting? Did you like Dom in Vampire Academy? Does this make you any more excited for the show? Keep watching… Meagan!
