Top 10 Books of 2014... Finished!

Hey guys it’s Meagan and it’s that time of the year… TOP 10 BOOKS OF 2014!!! YAY *APPLAUSE* I tried to keep these books to books that came out in 2014 (except for one book, but I didn’t hear about it until 2014). And for those who don’t know, I’m revealing these two books at a time. So today I will reveal my 2 and 1 choices! YAY! So sit back and enjoy! My number 2 pick is  The Unbound  by Victoria Schwab This is the sequel to one of my all-time favorite books,  The Archived , so I had high expectations for it. And it well surpassed my expectations!  The Unbound  did everything that a good sequel should do, it had all the things I loved from the first book (characters, an amazing plot, and amazing writing style) and it did them in a new and interesting way. This book also reminded me why I love Victoria Schwab’s books so much (her amazing writing style). Everyone should read this series so they can understand why I love  The Archived  so much! And finally, my number 1 pi

Top 10 Books of 1014... Almost Done

So today I will reveal my 4 and 3 choices, then tomorrow I’ll finally reveal my 2 and 1 choices! So sit back and enjoy! My number 4 pick is  City of Heavenly Fire  by Cassandra Clare It feels like EVERYONE was looking forward to this book, the finale to The Mortal Instruments series. Cassie had her work cut out for her when it came to wrapping this series up but she did not disappoint. She gave us one long; epic ending that had everything we wanted in it. I feel like this book brought the series back to the writing style and the elements of  City of Glass , arguably the second best book in the series, only topped by  Heavenly Fire ! My number 3 pick is  The 57 Lives of Alex Wayfare  by M.G.

Top 10 Books of 1014... Still Continued

YAY *APPLAUSE* I tried to keep these books to books that came out in 2014 (except for one book, but I didn’t hear about it until 2014). My number 6 pick is  In the Afterlight  by Alexandra Bracken Another one of my most anticipated books of 2014, this is the finale of The Darkest Minds trilogy. This book didn’t disappoint. It brought the series back to a slower pace that  The Darkest Minds  had and I really liked it! It had great characters, a great plot, and a great ending! If you haven’t read this series you  really  need to. My number 5 pick is The Young Elites by Marie Lu I’ve been waiting for this book for so long! I love Marie Lu’s Legend series so when I heard about this new series I was r

As she and her friend Ben seek answers, Kyla is torn between the need to know more and her  instinct  for self-preservation. - Amazon.com summary This is a great series for anyone who loves Dystopian! It's a very different and more realistic Dystopian. It also has lots of Dystopian elements for anyone who likes that. And it has diff

And for those who don’t know, I’m revealing these two books at a time. So today I will reveal my 8 and 7 choices, then tomorrow I’ll reveal my 6 and 5 choices, and so on… So sit back and enjoy!  My number eight is  The Retribution of Mara Dyer  by Michelle Hodkin This was one of my most anticipated books of 2014 so I had very high expectations for it. This book had pretty much everything I wanted in it (great characters, answers, and a good ending). This book still had a few pacing issues for me but it still did more than justice to the series and I will read whatever Michelle does after this. My number seven is  White Space by Ilsa J Bick This was a book that I found just randomly right after it came out. The premise sounded really interesting so I bought it

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies Movie Review

Image
Hey guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here to talk about The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies . I want to start this by saying that I have read The Hobbit book but that won’t really play into if I like the movie because, it’s a movie. I also wanted to say that I have not seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies, but we’ll bring that up later. So I’d say that this was a good one-time watch but I don’t see myself rewatching it for any reason unless it’s just TV and I have nothing better to watch. But I would say that it was my favorite of The Hobbit movies and the one that I had the most fun with. My main problem with the other two movies is that they have to stretch scenes that should be four or five minutes at max, out to be ten minute scenes because they need the run time to be long enough. Then by the time said scene was over, I just didn’t care about what was happening anymore because it had been going on for so long. But luckily I feel like they didn’t have near as mu

Top 10 Books of 1014... The Beginning

Hey guys it’s Meagan and it’s that time of the year… TOP 10 BOOKS OF 2014!!! YAY *APPLAUSE* I tried to keep these books to books that came out in 2014 (except for one book, but I didn’t hear about it until 2014). And the way I’m going to do this is by revealing two books at a time. So today I will reveal my 10 and 9 choices, then tomorrow I’ll reveal my 8 and 7 choices, and so on… So sit back and enjoy!  Number 10 is...  Shattered  by Teri Terry After the second book in this series I couldn’t wait for the third book. And it didn’t disappoint! It had everything I wanted from a last book; continued plot, great characters, good wrap up. This is a great series for anyone who wants a more grounded and realistic SCI-FI/ dystopian. Number 9 is...  We Were Liars  by E. Lockhart There’s not much I can say about this book that won’t be too much, but just know that it grabs you almost immediately with it’s interesting characters and plot and keeps you reading to the last page.

The 100 TV Discussion

Hey guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here to talk about The 100 (the TV show!) So, for anyone who doesn’t know , The 100 is a book by Kass Morgan that was made into a  TV show by The CW. If you would like to know about the book and my thoughts, you can click HERE and go to my review. But on this post I will be talking about the show and there will be minor spoilers. Also, if you are wondering if you should read the book or watch the show first, I’d say to read the book and then watch the show, because the show covers the first book in one episode before doing its own thing. First I wanna say that I love the TV show! I love that The CW took a good concept and just ran with it. Sadly this means that they also changed and added characters (the best example of this being Bellamy and Finn) but I’m okay with this too. I just have to look at the show as a different thing from the book. Now back to the example of Bellamy and Finn, Bellamy was probably my favorite character in the

The 100 Review

Hey guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here to review The 100 by Kass Morgan *Also, this is a review of the book, not the TV show, I will have a discussion about the show up soon, since I’ve seen that too* In the future, humans live in city-like spaceships orbiting far above Earth's toxic atmosphere. No one knows when, or even if, the long-abandoned planet will be habitable again. But faced with dwindling resources and a growing populace, government leaders know they must reclaim their homeland... before it's too late. Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents are being sent on a high-stakes mission to recolonize Earth. After a brutal crash landing, the teens arrive on a savagely beautiful planet they've only seen from space. Confronting the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community. But they're haunted by their past and uncertain about the future. To survive, they must learn to trust - and even love - again. - goodreads.com summ

Insurgent Trailer Thoughts

Image
Hey guys it’s Meagan and THE INSURGENT TRAILER DROPED TODAY! Okay so before I get into talking about the trailer I thought I’d share a little background. I didn’t love the Divergent movie, but I definitely didn’t not like it! I thought the director and actors did a good job and it was a solid movie. I even had some hope for Insurgent ! Then the teaser trailer came out and I was like ‘Okay, they’re doing something different. That’s cool!’ But the more clips were released, the more I noticed small things (that I will get into later), but more importantly I noticed that the style felt completely different from Divergent ; there was no way this was the same guy who directed Divergent . So I looked it up on IMDB and, what do you know! It’s a new director! I looked at his filmography and it looked like a lot of mediocre and some bad. There go a lot of my hopes for this movie! But when I got home from school today, I still took out my phone and watched the trailer. Below are my though

November/ December Book Haul

Image
Hey guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here with a quick November/ December book haul! This isn’t my book; I’m barrowing it because some internet friends and I are doing a traveling book sorta thing and right now the book is with me. I’m about to start reading this soon! One of my most anticipated books of 2014 that I bought as soon as it came out and read it really quickly! I got this at the Louisiana Book Festival. It had been on my radar for a while now and the author was at the festival so I figured, why not, and I bought it and got it signed! I just haven’t gotten the chance to read it yet. This is another book that’s been on my radar for a while now and I just now got the chance to buy it. I’m currently reading and enjoying it! This was one of my most anticipated books of 2014 so I bought it as soon as it came out! I read it really quickly and I loved it! Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Comment and let me know!

Unread Books!

Image
Hey guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here with a post about unread books! So we all have unread books on our shelf just staring us in the eye but, for some reason, we continue to buy new books and ignore the unread ones. Today I thought I’d share some of my unread books with y’all! This one has been recommended to me by internet friends for a while now and I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I really want to though! This hasn’t been on my shelf very long, but I really wanna get to it soon! (Maybe over Christmas break!) Yes, I know, I haven’t read Delirium yet, but sorry I started it over the summer but I had to put it down for something else. I want to finish it some time! This has been on my shelf for almost a year now and that is too long! I’ve tried to read it a few times but I always get caught up in other things. I will finish it soon! I like Ender’s Game , so another book by that author sounds like a good idea; I just haven’t gotten to start it yet

Popular TV Shows

Hello guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here to talk about something that is actually not book related… TV shows! Today I wanted to talk about TV shows and how I always tend to watch the popular TV shows years after they are at their peak. I realized this recently when I was looking at the date that Lost originally aired and realized that it was ten years ago. I am just now getting around to watching Lost on Netflix. Another show I watched way after it aired was Firefly . This is a HUGE cult classic show so I had to watch it and I just never got around to it until recently, twelve years after it aired. A show that is still, kind of in its peak that I recently got around to watching was Supernatural , and while this show is still producing episodes, I feel like its peak was around seasons four and five. A really recent show that caught on that I never thought would catch on was Once Upon A Time . I stayed away from this one for a while because I figured it wouldn’t catch on, but wha
