Book Award Shows

Hey guys so as most movie fans know, its movie award season and the Oscars are coming up! So thinking about this inspired my topic for today… Why don’t books have award shows?

So, yes, I’m aware that online sites like Goodreads host their own book awards but that’s not what I want, no I want a nationally broadcasted award show. It could feature categories like best female heroine, best male heroine, best {fill in genre here} book, best book to movie adaptation, best book, best author, etc. It would be great!!! Then when an author goes to accept the award they could give a speech thanking a bunch of people and stuff! I think it would be fun for the fans to watch and a great way to reward the authors for all their hard work on the books and show that we appreciate that work.
