Most Changed Characters
Hey
guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here to discuss my top three most changed
characters! (Note, these are in no particular order)
The
first character I’m going to talk about is Mara Dyer from The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. In my first reading
of this series I didn’t realize how much Mara changed, but it was when I went
back to reread the series that I noticed how much Mara had changed. Mara went
from this seemingly innocent girl who is broken and genuinely wants to get
better, to a girl who is (let’s face it) insane and doesn’t give a crap that
she’s insane, she’s just done with everyone’s crap. That is such a drastic
change and it’s insane to see her character change like that. It’s fun though
to go back and reread the first book to see how different she was.
The
next character I’m talking about is Ruby from The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. If you think back to Ruby
in the very beginning of The Darkest Minds she was a young, frail, scared
little girl who was even afraid of herself. Now flash forward to the end of the
series, now Ruby still has her flaws but she’s stronger, more powerful, and
more okay with herself and her ability. I love Ruby’s transformation because
it’s realistic. Ruby always acts as a person in tense situations would even she
was a person who had to grow up too fast.
And
the last character I’m going to talk about is Lev (or Levi) from Unwind by Neal Shusterman. *Note, I have
not read Undivided yet so I can’t talk about his character in that book.* When
I first started Unwind, Lev was my least favorite character (aside from the bad
guys), now, after reading Unsouled, Lev is my favorite character. That is some
insane development. He goes from a little thirteen year old who doesn’t know
how to think for himself to a kick butt fourteen year old who isn’t taking crap
from anyone. (Yes he changes that much over that short of time. And it doesn’t feel forced or unrealistic. :)
And I’m sorry that I’m not really explaining the development much, but I really
don’t want to spoil any of this amazing series for you people! Anyone that has
read this series (or even just the first book) will understand what I’m talking
about.
So
what characters do you think have changed the most (for better or for worse)?
