By now it is safe to say, Victoria Schwab is my favorite author. A Darker Shade of Magic is the fourth series I’ve read by her and it has never disappointed. I’m in the middle of the third book right now and LOVING it. Oh look, my other favorite author. The Unwind series has brought me so many emotions. I’ve laughed, cried, and cheered these characters on since I was in 8th grade; it just feels so real. These are technically Urban Fantasy, but that is a subgenre of fantasy sooo :) This is another series where everyone feels so real! After the end of each series, I never want to let these characters go. I sobbed at the end of both Clockwork Princess and City of Heavenly Fire . Most of these books started the same way for me, with me being reluctant to start a new book (ironic, I know). Hey guys and OH MY GOSH TODAY WE GOT OUR JACE! Yes! Today Cassie tweeted on Twitter revealing that Dominic Sherwood will be playing Jace in the upcoming City of Bones TV show! Now if you’re anything like me, this is when you scream, “THAT’S CHRISTAIN FROM VAMPIRE ACADEMY !” (Yep, remember that!) But yes! Dom played Christian in the Vampire Academy adaptation and now he’s going to be our Jace! How exciting is that! I’m personally happy with this casting. It doesn’t make me any more or less excited for the show but at least someone I am familiar with will be playing one of the main characters! What are your thoughts on this casting? Hello! So recently we finally got some City of Bones TV show news! Up until this point pretty much all we knew was that there was supposedly going to a TV and it was probably going to have a new cast; that was about it. Now we know that… ·          Yes, there will be a new cast for the TV show! I’m pretty excited, not because I hated the old cast (I actually kind of liked them) but they’ve already had their chance; it’s time to give some other people a shot in the TV show. ·          The show will air on ABC Family. This makes me kind of skeptical to be honest; it’s just that ABC Family normally does drama, not fantasy so I’m a little worried. I would’ve preferred it air on a station like The CW who have more experience with Fantasy especially after they’ve done The 100 .  But with that said I am still interested to see how ABC Family does the show. ·       ...

We all have those favorite books that get turned it movies. You hear about the movie, you hold out hope that it’ll be good, but when you go see it; you are hopelessly disappointed. That has fueled my idea for a discussion today; books turned movies that deserve a second chance to be a better movie. Percy Jackson So I’m starting this one off with the obvious answer. These are fun adventure books with a great story and even better characters! The series also has a built-in fan base so it’s guaranteed to make money (and you know what executives what… MONEY MONEY MONEY!). Now the built-in fan base could’ve been the movie’s down fall to begin with because Hollywood thought, Hey! People already like this! They’ll see it whether it’s good or bad! We don’t have to put any effort into this! But if Hollywood put the effort into making a Percy Jackson movie, it could definitely be good!
