April Wrap Up and May TBR

Well this is sad… I promise to make myself read more once exams are over. April Reads The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald Current Reads The Martian by Andy Weir The Haters by Jesse Andrews May Reads Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare As you can see, I’m going easy on myself this month since I had such a poor reading month in April. My goal for May is really just to survive, since school is throwing as much work on me as possible. But I promise I’ll survive and I’ll get some reading and writing done! *POSITIVITY* Keep Reading… Elise!

February Book Haul

I was doing well about not buying any new books and focusing on the ones on my bookshelf, but then I went to the bookstore... SO HERE’S MY  FEBRUARY  BOOK HAUL! After hearing nothing but amazing things about this book, I finally caved and bought it. I loved the movie so I have high expectations and think I will love it! I was planning on putting this one off until later but a certain person’s review on Instagram just made me pick it up. Victoria Schwab is my favorite author and I have loved all of her novels so I have high expectations for A Gathering of Shadows . Grant Goodman contacted me about reading this for a review and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity (Ninjas and Special Agents— I mean come on!). But I also feel that I don’t read many middle grade novels anymore so this will be fun to branch out of my usual genre of YA. Have you read any of the books mentioned above? What did you think of them? Keep Reading… Meagan!

The Martian Review

Hello my fellow readers, movie watchers, and TV addicts! So this week I had the fortunate opportunity of watching The Martian . I had been seeing posters for this movie everywhere so I was looking forward to it for a little while, so when I saw reviews coming out I rushed to go see it. And it did not disappoint. The tone of The Martian was much different than I expected, since I was expecting a more serious tone (this could be since I did not watch any trailers but I’m glad I didn’t because it allowed me to be surprised throughout the movie). But do not get me wrong, I LOVED the funny moments and I thought Matt Damon pulled them off nicely. His character actually reminded me of if Chris Pratt’s character from Parks and Recreation got stranded on Mars (with the exception of the fact that Chris Pratt’s character would fall in a crater and die in a matter of seconds… XD). The story was mostly strong as it was led by great characters. It was very interesting to see the switc...
