Reading, College Applications, and Netflix (or lack thereof)

So, as you may have noticed, I have been absent from my social media for the past months. No, this isn’t because I have retreated to a cabin in the woods to live a life of solitude, but rather my life has been taken over by color guard, school, and college applications. I haven’t even had much time to watch Netflix which, is super depressing when considering that fact that I still haven’t seen season one of Luke Cage , season four of Arrow , season eleven of Supernatural , or season five of Once Upon a Time . I promise I am working on getting caught up with all that, starting with Supernatural , but it is taking some time. The reading side of my life is practically none existent, at the moment. I’m supposed to be reading A Tale of Two Cities for English class, but I just have no time ! I’ve also been sporadically listening to Lady Midnight on Audiobook, but I’m nowhere near done with that… sorry. But I am LOVING Mark so far and I think Julian is beginning to get some developmen...

This community is the topic of a monthly feature on here where I show off pictures from other accounts that I love and some of my favorite bookstagramers. Reading Update... 10/23

Image
Wow it has been a while since my last reading update so here we are! Ever since I first heard about the idea for this book I knew I had to pick it up! I have started it and so far it is interesting. I am a fan of Patrick Ness’s Chaos Walking Trilogy so I am excited to see what he does with this idea! I am reading this book for my English class but, surprisingly, I’m enjoying it so far! The writing style s very elegant and descriptive so I’m excited to continue reading. This is what I will be reading as soon as I finish The Rest of Us Just Live Here . I have read a few pages already and so far it seems like it will be dealing a lot with the repercussions from the first one and take a lot of time to develop the characters— needless to say, I’m excited! Have you read any of the books mentioned above? What were your thoughts on them? Keep Reading… Meagan!

Reading Update

Hey readers! It’s time for a reading update! At the moment I’m (slowly) powering through my summer reading books. I’ve already read Miss Peregrine’s once and LOVED it so now that I’m rereading it I’m enjoying it again! I am loving to revisit these characters and these places and I’m excited to finish the book! I am also reading Huck Finn for school. I was not looking forward to this book and still have not gotten far into it, but I’m sure that will change soon! Have you read either of these books? What did you think about them? Keep Reading… Meagan!

Music and Reading

Music; some can’t read with it, some can’t read without it. I happen to fall in the latter category. You will never catch me without ear buds in my ear, even while I’m reading or writing (as I’m writing this I’m having myself a little Fall out Boy marathon :) I remember one day last year some kid in my science class came up to my while I was reading and listening to Pandora and asked what I was doing. I told him I was listening to music and he just stared at me and said, “AND READING? How do you do that at the same time???” I just told him that it wasn’t that hard for me and then went back to reading. Now I’m curious, can you listen to music while reading? And if you can, does it have to be a specific genre? I don’t have a genre preference but I know some people can only listen to instrumental when doing things. Comment and tell me! Keep Reading… BYE!!!
