Top 5 Wednesday... 2/10

Image
Hey guys, welcome to Top 5 Wednesday! If you don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is then click HERE , if not, stay! This week’s topic is top 5 books that we had spoiled for us! Don’t worry there won’t be any spoilers in this post! I used to have a tradition of reading the last words of books first and, unsurprisingly, this is how I got the majority of books spoiled for me. It wasn’t until I got really invested in the mystery of the Mara Dyer trilogy that I started to not like spoilers, up until that point I had just shrugged off spoilers and not let them affect me. That was a series where I felt that the reading experience was truly altered by having it spoiled and if I could go back and read one book for the first time again, it would be The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer . What books have you had spoiled? Have you spoiled any books for yourself then regretted it? Keep Reading… Meagan!

Favorite Series Covers

Hello fellow readers! We’ve all know the saying, don’t judge a book by its cover, and we all know that we break this rule. These are some of favorite series covers (the quality of the book has nothing to do with this list). These covers go brilliantly on your shelf and the covers look beautiful together! While I am not a fan of The Mortal Instruments covers, these are much better capturing the beauty and elegance of the era while keeping the main trio the center of the covers. I am specifically talking about the original covers but I love the new ones too. I was actually not a fan of these covers to begin with but wow they have grown on me! All three of these covers are simple, beautiful, and elegant. These are how you do people covers well! Each cover is a different striking color making them look great together on the shelf. I am talking about the US covers since I much prefer those to the UK covers. All three of these covers are extremely me...

My First Books

Everyone has those first books that really get them into reading! And everyone remembers the first book that they binge read. For most people I talk to, those books are Harry Potter , but not for me… I first read the Percy Jackson series back in sixth grade (it was a really popular series in my grade at the time). I took my time with both the first and second book but I flew through the last three books! I loved them so much that immediately after I finished the series I had a huge book hangover and reread the last three books again. This got me excited to read more books. Then in seventh grade, The Hunger Games became popular. I read those books fairly quickly. Then after I finished The Hunger Games series, I looked for similar books on Amazon and that’s how I found the Legend series! At the time only Legend had been published but I sped through that book in two days then waited not so patiently for Prodigy to come out. Binge reading Legend is what launched my love for ...

Mockingjay Movie Review

So I'm back from seeing Mockingjay Part 1, and my initial thoughts ate that I really enjoyed it! For any of you who don't know, Mockingjay is my least favorite of the books so I was kind of cautious going into this movie but it surpassed my expectations! First, can we talk about that acting! Jennifer Laurence did an AMAZING job and her chemistry with Liam was great too! While Gale is not my favorite, I really liked getting to see their relationship grow and the two of them bond. Josh Hutcherson also did a great job of making you sympathize for his character. This movie also had a ton of character development! I feel like since everyone is just in a new situation (district 13) it causes their character to grow and develop. I can’t wait to see that continue in Part 2, as well as see more of my favorite characters! Another thing I really loved in this movie was the score. I normally don’t notice score in movies (and that’s something I’m trying to get better at) but I ...
