Automatic Read Authors

We all have those authors that no matter what their next book is, we know we are going to pick it up. Whether it is because of that author’s track record or only one series that you love, you trust the author that much! For me, I will automatically pick up anything that Cassandra Clare or Victoria Schwab release. Cassandra Clare I’ve been a Cassandra Clare fan ever since I first read The Mortal Instruments . I enjoyed it, but The Infernal Devices truly made her one of my favorite authors. Most authors get worse when they keep revisiting a series or idea, but no, not Clare. Her stories only get better with the more she writes. I cannot wait to see where she takes the Shadowhunter universe next! Victoria Schwab I became a fan of Victoria Schwab back when I read The Archived and LOVED it! From then I read Vicious , The Unbound , A Darker Shade of Magic , and A Gathering of Shadows . Victoria Schwab always crafts brilliant stories and intriguing characters. At this point...

Top 5 Wednesday... 2/10

Image
Hey guys, welcome to Top 5 Wednesday! If you don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is then click HERE , if not, stay! This week’s topic is top 5 books that we had spoiled for us! Don’t worry there won’t be any spoilers in this post! I used to have a tradition of reading the last words of books first and, unsurprisingly, this is how I got the majority of books spoiled for me. It wasn’t until I got really invested in the mystery of the Mara Dyer trilogy that I started to not like spoilers, up until that point I had just shrugged off spoilers and not let them affect me. That was a series where I felt that the reading experience was truly altered by having it spoiled and if I could go back and read one book for the first time again, it would be The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer . What books have you had spoiled? Have you spoiled any books for yourself then regretted it? Keep Reading… Meagan!

Winter TV Premieres!

Image
It’s January so you know what that means… TV SHOW PREMIERES! Just to get it out of the way, This post will only be about shows that had a new season premiere in January— yes Flash and Arrow came back on but middle of the season episodes are going to be structured differently than a season premiere. SHADOWHUNTERS Let’s get this one out of the way first! I had EXTREMELY low hopes for Shadowhunters mostly because it is on ABC Family (*clears throat* Oh sorry Freeform…) and that station isn’t really known for Fantasy. I was worried about the CGI and the fact that most TV studios don’t have the budget to pull something based in fantasy like The Mortal Instruments off and not make it look cheesy. The Flash looks insanely cheesy at times but it WORKS because the show KNOWS it’s cheesy and jokes about it. The show doesn’t go for a serious tone but sadly Shadowhunters does. Even then, the CGI is not my biggest problem with Shadowhunters (I can actually look past it pretty easi...

Top 5 Wednesday... 6/24

Hey guys, welcome to Top 5 Wednesday! If you don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is then click HERE , if not stay! This week’s topic is Top 5 characters that we’d like to drown… so this should be fun! The Darkling ( Shadow and Bone ) This fandom loves this character but I JUST DON’T GET IT! He’s EVIL and MANIPULATIVE! I guess we’re all entitled to our own opinions… Amy ( Across the Universe ) I can’t say much about this one because I only read Across the Universe and it was so long ago but I remember barely being able to get through it due to the way Amy was written. To me, she talked like she was six; then she would just make stupid decisions making me dread her POVs… All of the characters in the Shatter Me Series (excluding Kenji) I’m gonna get hate for this but these characters need to get a life other than just fighting over Juliet and being butt-faces. And Juliette, YOU ARE AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN WHO DON’T NEED NO MAN! Ugh, I have very strong thoughts about this ser...

We Got Our Jace!

Image
Hey guys and OH MY GOSH TODAY WE GOT OUR JACE! Yes! Today Cassie tweeted on Twitter revealing that Dominic Sherwood will be playing Jace in the upcoming City of Bones TV show! Now if you’re anything like me, this is when you scream, “THAT’S CHRISTAIN FROM VAMPIRE ACADEMY !” (Yep, remember that!) But yes! Dom played Christian in the Vampire Academy adaptation and now he’s going to be our Jace! How exciting is that! I’m personally happy with this casting. It doesn’t make me any more or less excited for the show but at least someone I am familiar with will be playing one of the main characters! What are your thoughts on this casting? Did you like Dom in Vampire Academy? Does this make you any more excited for the show? Keep watching… Meagan!

City of Bones TV Show News!

Hello! So recently we finally got some City of Bones TV show news! Up until this point pretty much all we knew was that there was supposedly going to a TV and it was probably going to have a new cast; that was about it. Now we know that… ·          Yes, there will be a new cast for the TV show! I’m pretty excited, not because I hated the old cast (I actually kind of liked them) but they’ve already had their chance; it’s time to give some other people a shot in the TV show. ·          The show will air on ABC Family. This makes me kind of skeptical to be honest; it’s just that ABC Family normally does drama, not fantasy so I’m a little worried. I would’ve preferred it air on a station like The CW who have more experience with Fantasy especially after they’ve done The 100 .  But with that said I am still interested to see how ABC Family does the show. ·       ...

Top 10 Favorite Heroes and Heroines

Hey guys it’s Meagan and today I’m going to talk about my top 10 favorite Heroes and Heroines... 10.      Clary Fray (The Mortal Instruments) I really like Clary because there are times when she is strong and kick butt. But sometimes I also feel like she just complains a lot. But other than that she is awesome! 9.        Issabelle Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments) I really like Izzy she's strong, funny, knows how to fight, and not annoying! She does what she does for a reason and I understand that reason! 8.         Tessa Gray (The Infernal Devices) I love Tessa! She's so strong, kick butt, and DOESNT complain! Plus she's got Will Herondale! 7.         Lev (Unwind) When I first read Unwind I hated Lev but then as the series went on I realized how grateful I am that he's in the series! He's so smart and mature for his age... I h...

Top 10 Books of 1014... Almost Done

Hey guys it’s Meagan and it’s that time of the year… TOP 10 BOOKS OF 2014!!! YAY *APPLAUSE* I tried to keep these books to books that came out in 2014 (except for one book, but I didn’t hear about it until 2014). And for those who don’t know, I’m revealing these two books at a time. So today I will reveal my 4 and 3 choices, then tomorrow I’ll finally reveal my 2 and 1 choices! So sit back and enjoy! My number 4 pick is  City of Heavenly Fire  by Cassandra Clare It feels like EVERYONE was looking forward to this book, the finale to The Mortal Instruments series. Cassie had her work cut out for her when it came to wrapping this series up but she did not disappoint. She gave us one long; epic ending that had everything we wanted in it. I feel like this book brought the series back to the writing style and the elements of  City of Glass , arguably the second best book in the series, only topped by  Heavenly Fire ! My number 3 pick is  The 57 Lives ...
