We have finally made it through a whole month of 2016! Now that January is over it’s time for a January wrap up and February TBR! I’m the type of person that likes to plan out every aspect of my day, and that aspect of my personality has bled over into when I read. I like to make a plan for reading and have a TBR list for every book that I plan to read a few weeks ahead. Because of this, I thought I’d share some of the books on my upcoming TBR. The year of 2015 is coming to a close meaning now it is time for me to look back on the year— the books that I read, the movies that I watched, and all of the goals that I didn’t make. Reading My main reading goal for 2015 was to read 45 books but I slacked off early in the year and ended up only getting through 22 books. This year I focused on just reading whenever and whatever I wanted and did not force myself to read anything if I wasn’t enjoying it. At the beginning of the year I planned on using a TBR jar throughout the year and I followed through with this for a few months but eventually gave up. My final reading goal was to start reading comic books and I did start reading a few Flash and Green Arrow comics while also using the internet to learn more about other heroes. Notable reads  Rebel Belle : This was a refreshing and fun read! I am really glad I read it! A Darker Shade of Magic : Another great book from author V E Schwab! I was really looking forward to...

Hello my fellow readers!!! As most of you know, I recently finished part one of Les Misérables (titled Fantine) and I really enjoyed it! Of course this is only part of a story so I will be talking about it as that— a part for the story to build off of. I was very excited to start Les Mis after having listening to the Broadway show music on repeat and seeing the movie, so I came into this with high expectations, but also knowledge that Victor Hugo does go on tangents. This was great to know since Victor Hugo does in fact like to harp on about things of little relevance to the subject— some of these tangents add to the experience… and some you can just skip. Characters were great, as to be expected, and Victor Hugo spares no page developing them— he takes his SWEET time showing you their EVERY LITTLE inner conflict. Again, at times this is rewarding, but other times it just drags. Overall, I enjoyed reading this first part (even the parts that dragged) and I’m excited to...

Hey readers! Sorry that posts have been slowing down lately— school just started back up for me and I’m busy reading Les Miserables so I can write a review on that! (PS I’m LOVING it so far!), but since Les Mis is so long I have decided to split the book for reviews (so I don’t have to leave you without reviews for too long!). For anyone who doesn’t know, Les Mis is already split into parts (or books), each part is about 300 pages and once I finish a part I will do a discussion/review for that part. Since I just finished a read-a-thon and just got a book in the mail I figured it's about time for a reading update! So at the moment I'm reading Les Mis  by Victor Hugo! I'm about 150 pages in and I'm really enjoying it so far! I'm excited to get to characters that I recognize from the play and I can't wait to read more! This is doubling as a book haul now because I recently got Scarlet by Marissa Meyer in the mail! This is the sequel to Cinder (which I liked) and I'm excited to read it! The cover is GORGEOUS! THE BOOKTUBE-A-THON HAS ENDED! YES! Finally the Booktube-a-thon has ended and I got a decent amount of reading done during it! I read 170 pages of Huck Finn and 100 pages of Les Miserables! TWO MORE DAYS OF THE BOOKTUBE-A-THON ARE GONE! Wow time flies! Sorry I missed a day but I started school today so I was busy getting things ready for that so this will be an update for today AND yesterday! Yesterday I read about 50 pages of Huck Finn (finally) finishing that out! I had been reading it since before the read-a-thon and I'm glad to be done!  Today I started Les Mis (yes finally!) and got 40 pages in! HELLO! The Booktube-a-thon will be happening next week from August 3 rd – 9 th and I’m excited! If you don’t know the booktube-a-thon is a week where you read as much as possible. It’s very fun and I encourage you to participate (even if you’re like me and don’t have a Booktube account). As some of you might know, the booktube-a-thon involves challenges that you can fulfill with your reading so now I’m going to list my TBR that I would like to get through next week! Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain To America: Personal Reflections of an Historian by Ambrose, Stephen E. These are both my summer reading books that I have to finish next week. These books will fulfill the blue cover challenge and the last book you purchased challenge. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo This is a book that I’ve been wanting to read for a while! I’ve been a little (or a lot) Broadway obsessed since I got back from New York. While in New York I got to see Wicked and Something Rotten — Wicked blew me away with its scale and story while Something Rotten was very funny and original. I’ve already said that if I ever get the chance to go back to New York, I’m seeing Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera (which I was across the street from but sadly couldn’t see…). Now I spend my time listening to Broadway music on Spotify (I’m listening to American Idiot as we speak) and dreaming about seeing different shows! This new love of theatre has also inspired me to want to read Les Misérables and maybe some other books that these plays are based on! Have you been able to see any Broadway shows? Hey guys it’s about time that I gave you a reading update (I guess this’ll be a monthly thing now). I finished The Knife of Never Letting Go a while ago but I’m just now starting the second book. At the moment I’m about one hundred pages in and I’m excited to read more, I’ve heard great things about this book! I’m starting Les Mis ! After going to New York and seeing Broadway show (sadly I didn’t get to see Les Mis ) I am inspired to read the book that a play was based on. I’m excited to read this book but it’ll probably take a while since I’m going to be reading the unabridged version. Have you read either of the books mentioned above? What did you think about them?
