Let me say, I’m sorry for anyone who recommended this book… I kept putting it off because I never thought I’d like it-- boy was I wrong… once Jacob got to the island I fell in love with this book, and the characters! Jacob was a fairly good protagonist. He didn’t annoy me, he was smart, and he moved along the plot. I recommend this book for EVERYONE!

But by far, my favorite character is Emma… from the moment you first saw her, I knew she was gonna be my favorite character. She was sweet, nice, and I REALLY felt bad for her when she found out what happened to Jacob’s grandfather, plus she’s a firebender automatically making her awesome!

One thing that I enjoyed even more the second time around was the small but interesting urban explorer aspect in the beginning of the book. Over the past year I've become more and more interested in urban exploring and abandoned places so it was really neat to see Jacob walking through the destroyed house even if it was just a short scene.

Then the end… all I can say is Whoa! Didn’t see that coming! It was intense and full of twists and turns and I couldn't put it down (even the second time).

Overall Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was an amazing book and you should go read it if you haven’t already! The characters are great and they fuel the fast moving and interesting plot all the way until the intense climax!
