To Be Released... This Savage Song

Image
Hello fellow readers and in lieu of my usual Goodreads Monday post I’m here to discuss a book by one of my favorite authors that will be coming within the next year— This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. The city of Verity has been overrun with monsters, born from the worst of human evil. In North Verity, the Corsai and the Malchai run free. Under the rule of Callum Harker, the monsters kill any human who has not paid for protection. In the South, Henry Flynn hunts the monsters who cross the border into his territory, aided by the most dangerous and darkest monsters of them all—the Sunai, dark creatures who use music to steal their victim’s souls. As one of only three Sunai in existence, August Flynn has always wanted to play a bigger role in the war between the north and the south. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate Harker, daughter of the leader of North Verity, August jumps on it. When Kate discovers August’s secret, the pair find themselves running for the...

Authors Returning to Past Series

I’ve seen a growing trend in YA that both excites and worries me. I stopped halfway through the novel, and it was the last Rick Riordan novel I’ve attempted to read. I still see all of the different mythology series that he is releasing but I just can’t bring myself to care. All I can think about is how it feels like Rick Riordan is just trying to get every last penny out of these books and characters while he can. Now let me back up and say, I h...

Image
We need more heist novels in YA because   Six of Crows  was one hell of a ride! Criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker has been offered wealth beyond his wildest dreams. But to claim it, he'll have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist: Break into the notorious Ice Court (a military stronghold that has never been breached) Retrieve a hostage (who could unleash magical havoc on the world) Survive long enough to collect his reward (and spend it) Kaz needs a crew desperate enough to take on this suicide mission and dangerous enough to get the job done - and he knows exactly who: six of the deadliest outcasts the city has to offer. Together, they just might be unstoppable - if they don't kill each other first. - goodreads.com summary “No mourners. No funerals. Among them, it passed for 'good luck.” INTRO I originally read Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha trilogy a few years ago. I only made it through the first two book before stopping so I was cautious ...
