INTRO
AHHH! So I actually really loved this book! It was everything I had hoped to see in these characters and how they have progressed. I hope the next two books include as much character development (and maybe more interesting plot lines…) because I love it and can’t wait to read more!

THE GOOD
CELAENA:  HAS ACTUALLY BECOME ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS… IS THIS OPPOSITE DAY?! I’ve been really wanting to like Celaena from the beginning, but it wasn’t until Heir of Fire that I really loved her! This is the first time we see her not having something come natural to her and having to work towards it. Seeing her attempt (and fail) to control her powers was GREAT! And she finally confronts her past, something that has been haunting her forever! A+ for character development! I can’t wait to see her kick some butt in future books (just please don’t make her too perfect again…)

Abraxos: He has replaced Fleetfoot for my favorite character by being an adorable fluff ball rolling in flowers! omg I love him!

Manon: SOOOO… I was not a big fan of Manon at first— I found her chapters to be too exposition heavy and I just didn’t care— BUT THEN SHE GOT ABRAXOS! These two working together is just ADORABLE! Then Manon started caring about Abraxos and other people and ahhh I like her now :)

ROWAN: So I actually really loved Rowan because he wasn’t afraid to call Celaena out. While he was often harsh by calling her a coward and such, I think she needed it. She needed to stop running from her past and face it. I hope they continue to hold one another accountable in their friendship and it keeps Celaena’s character from becoming annoying again.

THE BAD
Some boring plot lines: Like I said Manon’s story didn’t interest me too much. There were parts that I loved but other times I couldn’t care less. There were also times when I loved Chaol and Aideon’s chapters but they also bored me every now and then.

OVERALL
If you couldn’t tell, I really loved Heir of Fire. Is it my favorite Sarah J Maas book? No (that award is reserved for A Court of Mist and Fury) but it was my favorite Throne of Glass book so far! It was as if someone was actually listening to all my gripes with the earlier books and fixed what I had an issue with! Character development was great and I LOVED Celaena! I can’t wait to see what Sarah J Maas does in the later books (only 2 more than I’m caught up!).

BEWARE! SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT!

***********************
***THE SPOILERS***
Overprotective Rowan: OMG so can we talk about when Aelin almost burnt herself out and Rowan got crazy overprotective and adorable! I mean he literally picked her up and brought him to his bed to make sure she was safe. ALSO props to Sarah J Maas to showing that two people can sleep together in a bed and NOT have sex. YAY FOR PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS (well it’s platonic for now ;)

Aelin: I LOVE THAT CELAENA HAS ACCEPTED HER PAST AND IS NOW GOING TO KICK BUTT AS AELIN. I’m glad she finally faced her demons rather than running away. Also got some awesome tattoos that I imagine look super cool and have deep meaning! I can’t wait to see where her story goes from here!

DORIAN! OMG I JUST WANT THIS CINNOMON ROLL TO BE HAPPY! I think you could actually hear my heart breaking when he revealed his power to save Chaol, thus getting himself enslaved…

AEDION! FIRST can we appreciate how he refers to Aelin as “my queen” … HE’S JUST SO PRECIOUS! He’s so overprotective of Aelin and I LOVE IT! But I cried when he revealed he was a rebel and thought he would die before getting the chance to see Aelin again. I JUST WANT HIM TO BE HAPPY!

Chaol: AHHH! So he STOOD UP to the king and told him what TRASH he is! AND he has moved on from Celaena, realizing that when she returns she won’t be the same person from before… I LOVE CHAOL!
