Hiding from the one truth she can't avoid. She's different. She survived. Why? When Dol and her best friend, Ro, are captured and taken to the Embassy, off the coast of the sprawling metropolis once known as the City of Angels, they find only more questions. While Ro and fellow hostage Tima rage against their captors, Dol finds herself drawn to Lucas, the Ambassador's privileged son. But the four teens are more alike than they might

Top 5 Wednesday... 7/22

Hey guys, welcome to Top 5 Wednesday! If you don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is then click HERE , if not stay! This week’s topic is top 5 side characters that deserve their own series! Jamie or Stella ( Mara Dyer Trilogy ) Jamie was easily my favorite non-main character from the Mara Dyer Trilogy. He has a way lighting up the darker scenes with his great sense of humor! I would love to read from Jamie’s POV and see how he sees the world and this could be a way to learn more about his character! As for Stella she was just a character that I fell didn’t get used to her full potential I fell there is still SO MUCH that I could learn about her! And I want to know where she went and what she’s doing after the Retribution. Kenji ( Shatter Me Trilogy ) Kenji was one of the tolerable characters in the Shatter Me Trilogy, he’s a fun-loving character with a great sense of humor. I would LOVE to see what he does when he’s not with Juliette and maybe we could learn more about his ch

Hello and welcome to Goodreads Monday! A weekly meme hosted by Forever Reading  where we feature books that we added to our TBR thinking we’d read them, but we never did. It happened on Halloween. The world ended. And a dangerous Game brought it back to life. Seventeen-year-old Michael and his five-year-old brother, Patrick, have been battling monsters in The Game for weeks. In the rural mountains of West Virginia, armed with only their rifle and their love for each other, the brothers follow Instructions from the mysterious Game Master. They spend their days searching for survivors, their nights fighting endless hordes of “Bellows”—creatures that roam the dark, roaring for flesh. And at this Game, Michael and Patrick are very good. But The Game is changing. The Bellows are evolving . The Game Master is leading Michael and Patrick to other survivors—survivors who don’t play by the rules. And the brothers will never be the same. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Review

Image
Hello! So I recently finished rereading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children so instead of writing another review for a book I've already reviewed on my Instagram, I'm going to post my old review of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs on here; a book about children, monsters, and photographs… A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. And a strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here - one of whom was his own grandfather - were more tha

CW Shows at SDCC

Hello!!! San Diego Comic Con has now happened full of amazing reveals and fun Q&As! I, sadly, was not there but that’s what YouTube is for, so I can watch all the panels, and that’s what I’ve been doing the past few days! Now that I’ve seen all of the panels I’m here to talk about everything that was revealed and my thoughts on them. This post will be divided by TV Show so if you only care about a specific show just scroll down to that section of this post. If not, then get ready because this is going to be a long one! Arrow This is the panel that I was the most excited to watch (closely matched by The Flash ) and it didn’t disappoint (beyond it being a little short, but there is nothing we can do about that). There were a lot of reveals and new things mentioned and I’m excited to share them with you! This first one I don’t have too much to say about it— Anarky and Mister Terrific will join the cast for season four as will Damien Darhk. This makes comic book fans excited,

Goodreads Monday! A Monster Calls

Image
Hello and welcome to Goodreads Monday! A weekly meme hosted by Forever Reading where we feature books that we added to our TBR thinking we’d read them, but we never did. The monster showed up after midnight. As they do. But it isn't the monster Conor's been expecting. He's been expecting the one from his nightmare, the one he's had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments, the one with the darkness and the wind and the screaming... This monster is something different, though. Something ancient, something wild. And it wants the most dangerous thing of all from Conor. It wants the truth. -goodreads.com summery A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness Published on September 27th 2011 Added on June 20th 2013 Check it out on Goodreads!

Under-hyped Book of the Week, Week 10

Image
Hey guys welcome to Under-Hyped Book of The Week, Week 10... This week I'm here to talk about… Unwind by Neal Shusterman Connor, Risa, and Lev are running for their lives. The Second Civil War was fought over reproductive rights. The chilling resolution: Life is inviolable from the moment of conception until age thirteen. Between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, however, parents can have their child "unwound," whereby all of the child's organs are transplanted into different donors, so life doesn't technically end. Connor is too difficult for his parents to control. Risa, a ward of the state, is not enough to be kept alive. And Lev is a tithe, a child conceived and raised to be unwound. Together, they may have a chance to escape and to survive.  –goodreads.com summery Now any of you that have followed me for a while now know that I love this series! But if you’re new here... Hi! I'm Meagan and Unwind if one of my favorite books! There, now you

Reading Update

Image
Hey readers! It’s time for a reading update! At the moment I’m (slowly) powering through my summer reading books. I’ve already read Miss Peregrine’s once and LOVED it so now that I’m rereading it I’m enjoying it again! I am loving to revisit these characters and these places and I’m excited to finish the book! I am also reading Huck Finn for school. I was not looking forward to this book and still have not gotten far into it, but I’m sure that will change soon! Have you read either of these books? What did you think about them? Keep Reading… Meagan!

Inside Out Review

Image
Hello! I hope my amazing readers had a great Fourth of July (or random Saturday for the nonamericans). I spent my day watching Inside Out , the new Pixar movie! I’ve been looking forward to this one after hearing amazing thing after amazing thing about it from online reviewers… And after having seen the movie I think that I would rewatch it when it comes on DVD. People are saying that this is the best Pixar movie and even the best movie of the year so far— I don’t know if I’d go that far, but I did enjoy it! Inside Out is full of fun characters with interesting personalities. I really liked to see these characters (or emotions ) play off of each other’s personalities which lead to great dialogue and jokes! All of the characters in this movie feel real and they were fun to watch. As I said, they play off of each other really nicely and it works well with the plot and the world of Inside Out . People are saying that this movie is more of a movie for adults and, in a way, I’d

TV Update! Doctor Who

Image
Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a Doctor Who fan, but until recently I hadn’t seen most of the episodes. That’s right, when I was originally going through and watching the show on Netflix I watched all of Christopher Eccleston, but I skipped through some of the David Tennant and Matt Smith episodes. So I've been spending the past few weeks catching up on all of the past episodes that I had originally skipped, and I've been really enjoying them! At the moment I'm at the end of David Tennant's last season and I'm sad to see him go. Tennant was such a great doctor with an amazingly complex personality. His episodes were mostly great and he's going to always be my doctor! Keep Watching... Meagan!
