The Beginning

Hey guys it’s Meagan and today I’m here to talk about something kind of difficult (at least it is for me), starting books.

This applies to TV shows and movies too, but the hardest part of reading any book for me, is getting through those first few pages. But the question is why are those first few pages, or first few minutes of a movie so hard to get through? Well I believe it’s because at that point the world and characters still feel foreign to you; you, as a reader, are not familiar with the characters or the author’s writing style yet. This could have something to do with why people put so many books down so early on in them. They just don’t get far enough into them to start enjoying them yet.

I often dread starting new TV shows because I know that I’m going to have to spend time getting used to this new world and characters. But, of course, that’s also a good thing because it’s new characters that you care about!
Do any of you also have this problem? Comment and tell me so I don’t feel alone! XD
